Spray foam insulation in Cypress
Cypress is almost entirely unincorporated Harris County, which means the permitting and inspection path is different from the City of Houston and a lot of contractors get it wrong. We work here constantly: Bridgeland, Towne Lake, Fairfield, Coles Crossing and the older Cypress North sections.
What we see in Cypress houses
Cypress grew in waves. Coles Crossing, Fairfield and Cypress Creek Lakes are 1990s and 2000s homes with the standard builder package: blown fiberglass on the attic floor, ducts on top of it, and a radiant barrier that was a selling point at the time. Bridgeland and Towne Lake are newer and larger, often with three or four HVAC zones and a lot of attic volume to condition.
The right answer for most of them is open-cell foam at the roof deck, bringing the ductwork and equipment inside the envelope. On the newest homes we also look hard at the bonus room floor cavities and the garage ceiling, which are the two places builders leave unfinished.
Acreage properties north of 290 toward Hockley often come with a shop or barn. We do those on the same trip, usually with closed-cell foam on the metal walls and roof to stop the condensation that drips on everything in a Houston summer.
Commercial and industrialCommercial work in Cypress
The US-290 corridor is a distribution and light industrial market with a lot of new tilt wall warehouse product between Jersey Village and the Grand Parkway. We insulate warehouse roof decks and walls, metal shop buildings, and church and school campuses throughout Cy-Fair ISD, and we bid against the spec with the COI and bonding a general contractor expects.

Cypress questions
Who inspects the attic in Cypress?
For most Cypress addresses it is Harris County, not the City of Houston, and the county's residential requirements differ. We confirm the applicable requirement before we quote and provide the written certification the inspector wants to see.
Can you foam my shop on the same visit as the house?
Yes, and it is common on acreage north of 290. The house usually gets open-cell at the roof deck; the shop usually gets closed-cell on the metal skin for condensation control. One mobilization, one written scope.
