Spray foam insulation in Katy
Katy has more new roofs going on than almost anywhere else in the region, and most of them sit over a two story house with a tall, complicated attic. That is exactly the attic that benefits most from foam at the roof deck, and it is exactly the attic where a bad spray job hides for years.
What we see in Katy houses
The bulk of Katy's housing stock is 1995 to present: Cinco Ranch, Grand Lakes, Seven Meadows, Firethorne, Cross Creek Ranch and the newer Elyson and Cane Island sections. These are large two story homes with steep roofs, media rooms over the garage, and a lot of ductwork running through 140°F attic air. Most were built with blown fiberglass on the attic floor and a radiant barrier stapled to the rafters, which helps until the ducts leak and the attic floor is buried under storage.
What we usually recommend here is a full roof deck conversion: open-cell foam at the underside of the deck and gables, the old insulation left in place or removed depending on condition, and the attic brought inside the envelope. Bonus rooms over the garage get their own look, because the knee walls and floor cavities there are almost never sealed properly by the builder.
Katy also has a healthy new construction pipeline. If you are building in Elyson, Cane Island or on acreage out toward Fulshear, we coordinate directly with your builder on foam depth, protected surfaces and inspection timing before the drywall goes up.
Commercial and industrialCommercial work in Katy
The Katy Freeway corridor from the Grand Parkway to the Energy Corridor is one of the busiest warehouse and flex space markets in Texas. We insulate metal buildings, tilt wall warehouses, distribution centers and shop space along I-10, Highway 90 and the 99 corridor, and we bid to spec with the insurance limits general contractors on those projects require. Church and school campuses along Kingsland and Westheimer Parkway are regular work for us as well.

Katy questions
Do I need to remove the radiant barrier before spray foam?
Usually yes. Foam has to bond to the roof deck, not to a foil sheet stapled below it. We pull the radiant barrier as part of prep and price it into the quote.
Is Katy in the City of Houston for permits?
Mostly no. Depending on your address you are in the City of Katy, unincorporated Harris County, Fort Bend County or Waller County, and each enforces a different code edition. We confirm which one applies before we quote so the attic passes inspection.
